Entry  was  from  21  years  of  age  followed by 18 months probationary period.  The  SS eventually   reflected  Himmlers  esoteric interests  and encompassed  quasi religious  ceremonies  and beliefs.  From 1945  it  was  classed  as a criminal organisation.
